Lizzo joined a prog-rock band where she sang as well as played flute. Her family had relocated to Denver and Lizzo was alone to begin her career in Houston. Lizzo was a single woman in her car, and sometimes lying on the floor of her recording studio in the studio she also washed her hair at the gym. Lizzo's father died at the age of twenty-one. The two had been very close and it was a devastating loss. After the death of her father she quit the prog rock group. Lizzo was able to return to Denver after an infrequent stay in Denver relocated to Minneapolis in the year 2011 upon the suggestion of a close friend. Lizzo was soon immersed in the music scene of Minneapolis. She was a part of the girl groups Chalice and GRRRL PRETY. Her debut album Lizzobangers came out via an independent label in the year 2013.
